Waiting On Wednesday: The Winds of Winter

May 22, 2019

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature that spotlights an up-and-coming release you are most excited about.

Ok, this book I'm featuring today stems from my frustration of the conclusion of the show on Sunday evening. I have to see how it is written out. I have to see the minor characters and the parts they play and how they affected things. But, before I can see the ending, I need to see the next to last book! It's been since 2011 people! I've been waiting. The whole series has come and now gone and no book 6.

Waiting On:
Title: The Winds of Winter
Author: George R.R. Martin
Publisher: HarperVoyger
Publication Date: ????

About the Book:
The Winds of Winter is the forthcoming sixth novel in the epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin.

The previous installment, A Dance with Dragons, covered less story than Martin intended, omitting at least one planned large battle sequence and leaving several character threads ending in cliffhangers. Martin intends to resolve these cliffhangers "very early" in The Winds of Winter, saying "I'm going to open with the two big battles that I was building up to, the battle in the ice and the battle at Meereen—the battle of Slaver's Bay. And then take it from there."

Why I'm Waiting:
I've been waiting 8 years. It's still going to be a longer wait. I will wait.
After the show ended, I need to see how the books end. I wasn't happy with the shows ending. There has to be some difference. I'm pouting basically. That is why I'm featuring the book this week. Ha.

What are you waiting on this week?
