Halloween Reads
I'm not one who likes spooky, creepy reads. I don't like horror based stories. Now, if there is a mystery and suspense, yes. I will read it. Or if it is a gothic style , yes! Out right horror, no. Murder/ mystery, not a problem. Old, long ago, mystery - totally! Steampunk, absolutely! There are a lot of options I think for Halloween reads, without it being in your face horror.
The air of mystery and suspense to me is the right vibe.

Born of Persuasion by Jessica Dotta
The Curse of Misty Wayfair by Jaime Jo Wright
The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus by Jaime Jo Wright

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
The Secrets of the Mist by Morgan L. Busse
Sabotaged by Dani Pettrey

Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Things That Make Up My Perfect Day
What makes a perfect day? A perfect day really depends on my mood of the day. Some days it is having a clean house. Going to bed with not exactly spotless house, but a nice lived in clean with a cleared off counters and sink cleaned out. Another day is rotting. When the exhaustion has hit, just being able to relax and not think is a perfect day. However, I don't think these are the perfect days we're to feature.
So, when I think of a perfect day, I will spotlight all that I wish could happen on what would be on perfect day.
You can't have a perfect day unrested. I would wake up at a decent time, rested and refreshed. I would put on the comfy lounge clothes and then start to straighten up the house. Have the family fed for breakfast and then have laundry and dishes going. With everything in order and family busy doing what they are doing, I would go curl up on the couch, under my cozy, fluffy blankets. The day would be cloudy and rainy and very cool outside. Not cold, but cool and crisp. A chilly breeze blowing. Cool enough for the fire place to be going and not needing the heater to keep the room warm and comfy.
I would have a new or current read and have about an hour of free time to read and just savor time to be quiet.
After that time, I would do more laundry, put up dishes, wipe down the house, then check on the family and then spend time together playing a game or watching a movie. Then we would have an easy, mess-free lunch. Maybe Chick-Fil-A or Whataburger.
Then I would pop in my earbuds and listen to my audiobook as I clean up lunch take care of the usual chores. Once done with chores I would go relax listening to my audiobook for a while under a blanket.
Dinner would be a comfort meal, homemade soup or chicken and dumplings. A lovely, filling meal that is like a warm hug. We would get dinner cleaned up and then we would settle down as a family and watch a seasonal movie and maybe play a game while the movie would play and we would just relax till bedtime.
Nothing flashy. Just time together, time to read, and a cozy day together as a family.
What would be considered a perfect day for you?
