About the Book:
Miss Temperance Flowerdew is on her way to work when a stranger suddenly grabs her off the street and sends her on a Chicago-bound train before she can figure out what happened.

When Mr. Gilbert Cavendish is called upon to rescue a missing woman, he follows the trail to Chicago only to discover that the woman is his good friend Temperance. Before they can discover who was behind the abduction, they're seen alone together by a New York society matron, putting their reputations at risk.

Gilbert is willing to propose marriage--except Temperance will have none of it. She's finally stepped out of the shadow of her relations and won't give up her independence. But when it becomes clear the misunderstanding in Chicago has escalated into a threat on her life and followed her to New York, accepting Gilbert's help in solving the mystery may lead to more than she ever could have dreamed.
My Thoughts:
When I need to smile or really laugh, I know I can pick-up a book by Jen Turano. Her creativity and her humor mixed with adventure all really work together. I also love her unique names for her characters. Any where else, you would be going..what??? Here, with the settings and intrigue, it all works together.

I'm always sad when a series end. It's the end of tagging along with new friends, but when it closes out and you have all of the information and know how these friends will be, it's a nice thing.

Caught by Surprise starts off shortly after Out of the Ordinary. Before, Temperance was a girl who was quiet and sunk into the background, but after dealing with issues, she has come back out of her shell and peruses life and supports her friends to the fullest.

When the case of mistaken identity sends Temperance on a journey she wasn't prepared for, she goes along with what is going on. She is swept away from New York with no money, no food, and no clothes. But when her childhood friend shows up looking for someone else, Temperance puts the the puzzle pieces together and it then sends her on a hunt to find out the real information.

Gilbert Cavendish is a man of schedules and doing things by the book. He has always been the friend to balance out Temperance growing up. When something happens that put him and Temperance in a possible predicament that could hurt them in social circles, he tries to fix it by offering marriage. It doesn't go as planned. He is perplexed, but he knows Temperance and doesn't give up easily.

Temperance and Gilbert were just fun to read about. We also got to keep up with the previous characters from the last two books. This book really did just closed out everything completely and in a fun way.

I honestly can't wait for Jen Turano's next book. I know it is due out at the beginning of 2019.

This was just a fun series!
