Top Ten Tuesday: Backlist Books

November 6, 2018

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Artsy Read Girl.
Each week features a book related topic to spotlight your Top Ten.

Topic:
Backlist Books

This is a fun topic, but also a sad topic! I get to show off all the books I've already bought, but haven't gotten around to reading! I have so many books that I want to read, and hope to read, but they currently sit in boxes....till my shelves get built (hopefully soon).

I have grabbed and bought books as I've seen them. I can't help it. My husband says I have a problem, but as the saying goes, "It's not hoarding if it's books". I can't help it if I see a title I've wanted to read on sale or clearance. It calls to me.

With Endless Sight by Allison Pittman

The Austen Escape by Katherine Reay

What's on your list?

New Cover Love 2019 Releases

November 2, 2018

In the last couple of weeks, there has been so many new covers revealed for 2019. I wanted to share a few of them with you today. They have all just been stunning. I've ooo'd and ahh'd over many of them.

I was honored to be apart of the cover reveal for this lovely book, Whose Waves These Are by Amanda Dykes. It's due out April 30th, 2019.

In the wake of WWII, a grieving fisherman submits a poem to a local newspaper asking readers to send rocks in honor of loved ones to create something life-giving but the building halts when tragedy strikes. Decades later, Annie returns to the coastal Maine town where stone ruins spark her curiosity and her search for answers faces a battle against time.

Dani Pettry is one of my favorite contemporary romantic suspense authors. Her newest boo, The Killing Tide just debuted the cover a little over a week ago. This book is due out August 6th, 2019.
When one Coast Guard officer is found dead and another goes missing, CGIS special agent Finn Walker faces his most dangerous and volatile crime yet. His only clues are what little evidence remains aboard the dead officer's adrift cutter, and the direction the clues point will test him and the guard to their limits.

Complicating matters further is the arrival of investigative reporter Harper Grace. An unrelenting journalist who was nearly killed as the result of her last expose, Harper has been sent to Wilmington on the hunch of her boss that the Coast Guard is stonewalling the truth about the officers. An interview with the dead victim's wife convinces her there's a story worth uncovering, even if it means risking her life again.

Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Harper can't ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them, but will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer before they become his next mark?

Until the Mountains Fall by Connilyn Cossette will be the third book in the Cities of Refuge Series. I honestly can't wait for this one. Also, how pretty is this cover?! This book releases July 2nd, 2019.
Recently widowed, Rivkah flees Kedesh, refusing to submit to Torah law and marry her husbands brother. Malakhi has secretly loved Rivkah for years, but after her disappearance, he throws himself into the war against the Canaanites and is forced to confront not only his wounds, but also hers including the shocking truth that has kept her from returning.

Becky Wade knows how to write fun and touching contemporary romance. Her Bradford Sister's Trilogy has just been fabulous. I'm happy and a little sad that Sweet on You will be the next and last book of the series. It's been a fun one! This series conclusion is due out April 30th, 2019.
Britt and Zander have been best friends since they met thirteen years ago, but unbeknownst to Britt, Zander has been in love with her for just as long. When Zander's uncle dies of mysterious causes, he returns to Washington to investigate. As they work together to uncover his uncles tangled past, will the truth of what lies between them also come to light?

Has there been a new book just announced that you are looking forward to?

Enchanting Nicholette by Dawn Crandell: Just Reads Tour

November 1, 2018

Welcome to the Blog Tour & Giveaway for Enchanting Nicholette by Dawn Crandall, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Title: Enchanting Nicholette
Series: The Everstone Chronicles #5
Author: Dawn Crandall
Publisher: Whitaker House
Release Date: October 9, 2018
Genre: Historical Romance

In this captivating novella by Dawn Crandall, Nicholette Everstone is already a widow at the age of twenty-two: her husband was murdered on their wedding day. She has just returned to Boston after two years of mourning in Europe. Although her husband was loving, the marriage was an arranged one, and Nicholette would like to wed again–this time for love…and to someone safe.

As she acclimates to life in Back Bay again, Nicholette meets someone she can’t help but fall for. But when she learns of the danger and sacrifices Cal Hawthorne takes on for the safety of others, will her heart be strong enough to keep her fears of “what if” at bay?

EXCERPT:

No one I’d ever met had been able to turn my head enough to induce thoughts of going against my parents’ wish for me to marry into the Everstone family. It was what I’d always known would happen…and I’d been quite agreeable to it.
And now what was I supposed to do? The thought of finagling my way through a sea of highly interested prospective suitors made me feel ill. I honestly didn’t know what I would do if I met someone who interested me. I had absolutely no practice in flirting. Only following directions.
I took another quick glance at Sylvie.
She was sixteen—six years younger than me—and she seemed to have such a natural allure, but in a rather likable way. She was so approachable and candid, two terms that would never describe me in a hundred years.
The carriage slowed to a smooth stop, and I looked outside to see the large golden lettering backed by dark green over the multi-paned storefront windows of Brittle Brattle Books.
Sylvie scooted toward the door, which was opened by the groom.
“A few minutes, please, Lamont.” I reached for the handle, closing the door again. “Sylvie, I have a request to make of you, and I hope you won’t find it offensive—”
“Oh, I don’t think I would! You can ask me anything.”
