My Thoughts:
Laura Frantz is an author who I anxiously await new books from. She has such a poetic way of writing. It flows and carries the story to so many avenues, all while keeping you hooked. 

I've flowed Laura's writings for a long while now. I have to say, I've fallen in love with her books that focus on and around the Revolutionary War. The Lacemaker is set during the start of the war, and we are shown what it was like for a family that is very complex. A father that is an assistant Governor of Virginia to the King of England, a mother who even though is England born, who is all for liberty. Then, there is the daughter, who has had all of her decisions made for her by her father. She has not had the ability to think for herself. 

Noble Rynallt is a man who has just come out of morning for his sister. He was born in Wales and now calls the coloney's his home. He loves his now home country and his closest friends and acquaintances are those who are well known for wanting to separate from the king. Though more of a quiet temperament, he is a man of determination and kindness. That kindness leads him to Elizabeth Lawson. 

The characters of this story had a great background and were pretty complex. I loved how some of the Welsh language was woven through the story. I'm also glad I listened to the audiobook, because I know on my own, I probably would have said them wrong. 

This was an enjoyable story all around. The history of this time is so rich and Laura Frantz is able to bring it alive.

This week, I wanted to feature a favorite genre, Historical Romance. I love the settings of historical books. This week feature, focuses on several interesting settings, starting in Norway and spanning to the Appalachians. With such a broad setting, there is a wonderful chance for a rich story. Having read a couple of books by this author, I know the story will be gripping! I honestly can't wait to read this book! Thankfully, not too much longer.
