Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Artsy Read Girl.
Each week features a book related topic to spotlight your Top Ten.
Topic:
Traditional Authors Who Published Independently
The independent publishing world has had a massive uptick in the last few years. Years and years ago, it was on the fringe of the publishing world. But with the recent changes with the reading and publishing world, independent publishing has found a solid footing.
Many authors who I adore, have now independently published their stories. Some are continuations of stories they started with a traditional publishing house, others have just published their stories through this way. And I'm so glad they have done this! Some stories needed these continuations and other stories we wouldn't have without it.
Today, I'm featuring authors who have traditionally published their books in the beginning and now can find some of their stories indie published.

Stay With Me by Jody Hedlund
The Cinderella Plot by Pepper Basham

Bourne & Tributary by Lisa T. Bergen
Colors of Truth by Tamera Alexander

By the Waters of Babylon by Mesu Andrews
The Fearless Cowboy by Jody Hedlund

I think it’s wonderful to see more folks being published through various indie routes!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I have Pepper and Jaime's books on my TBR. The only reason I haven't read them is because they are YA and that genre is hit or miss with me. Although, I love their other books, so I am sure I will enjoy these as well.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Courtney Walsh on a few lists this week. Did she start as an indie author has she started doing a mix of indie and trad publishing?
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/eight-thoughts-on-the-hardcover-app/
I only heard of Courtney Walsh, but the fact her books are pretty Christian from what I've heard puts me off reading them.
ReplyDeleteOh and Jody Hedlund does ring a bell, but I haven't read their books either.

I definitely get why authors would chose to publish independently. I know they have a lot more control over their own work that way.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Hybrid authors are quite common now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #TTT
