Feature & Follow Friday
July 5, 2013
Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. Each week a new question/discussion on books is posted. It's a fun time where you can visit with other bloggers and gain new followers.
This Weeks Question: July 4th is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government. I will say, I love books with War in them.
War Related Reads:
Day of War and Covenant of War by Cliff Graham are at the top of the list. They are the first 2 books in the Lion of War Series. They are gritty and they are violent, but they are not gory. They show how brutal war use to be with hand to hand combat.
Over Throwing the Government:
The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins.

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. It's a fun meme and blog hop where you can meet a whole lot of other awesome bloggers. Each week, there is a different topic or activity to discuss.
This weeks topic:
Plus, I love seeing books on my bookshelf when I've finished reading them. They are my little trophies.

So, what is your preferred reading method? I would love to hear!
One last thing, I would like to be followed on Bloglovin'. With everything going on with GFC and its possible demise on July 1st (which stinks!).

I do also have RSS, Twitter, and Facebook as well.
Thanks!

Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?
I am stuck in the old ways. I am a fan of printed books. Either hardback or paperback. I will say however, for sake of comfort, I prefer paperback, because when you have 1,000 page+ read, oh, how it can hurt the wrist. I don't even own an e-reader, but I will say with experience from my phone, if you drop an electronic device on your face, it hurts far worse than an open book.Plus, I love seeing books on my bookshelf when I've finished reading them. ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
"After all this time?"
"Always," said Snape.”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Gone with the Wind
“Sir,"she said,"you are no gentleman!"
An apt observation,"he answered airily."And, you, Miss, are no lady.”
― Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind
“Dear Scarlett! You aren't helpless. Anyone as selfish and determined as you are is never helpless. God help the Yankees if they should get you." -Rhett Butler”
― Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind
“Death, taxes and childbirth! There's never any convenient time for any of them.”
― Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind
Lion of War Series
“If your courage holds in the small battles, it will hold in the great ones.”
― Cliff Graham, Covenant of War
Outlander Series
“...sitting and waiting is one of the most miserable occupations known to man - not that it usually is known to men; women do it much more often.”
― Diana Gabaldon, Dragonfly in Amber
“Scots have long memories, and they're not the most forgiving of people.”
― Diana Gabaldon, Dragonfly in Amber
Unfortunately I don't have the page numbers to these quotes like I would like to have, but I have given full credit to the author and book.

Feature and Follow Friday #1
June 13, 2013
I thought I would give a Feature Follow a try. :-) This Feature Follow is hosted by Alison Can Read & Parajunkee.
Time for some fun.
Q: Activity: Spine Poetry. Create a line of poetry with your book spines (take a picture). Not feeling creative? Tell us about your favorite poem.
My poem book is still buried in a box somewhere, so I'm trying book spine poetry with whatever books I have laying around me.
Love's Reckoning
Catching Fire
Cure for the Common Life
Happy, Happy, Happy
Not the best, but it's fun to try!
