Synopsis:
Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school--irresistible. When their paths cross again after college--still irresistible. This time, though, Ty feels exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.

The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia's ready to be Ty's wife, but Ty's not ready to be anybody's husband. As a professional bull rider, he lives on the road and can't bring himself to settle down.

Five and a half years pass. Celia's buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty's achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the face of the one woman he couldn't forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.

How much will Ty sacrifice to make Celia's dreams come true, to win her trust, and to prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?
 Review:
This is the first books by Becky Wade and I have to say that I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. Meant to Be Mine is the second book in The Porter Family Series. Thankfully, it works perfectly as a standalone novel.

I want to start off by saying I loved this book! I loved how real the characters were. How real the surroundings and the atmosphere were. The book felt like how you lived and the people in the story were like that of who you interact with everyday, and I have to say when you have a story set partly in Texas, that is a good thing. There is no exaggeration of the Texas twang or culture. I could hug Becky for that! She captured the smothering heat of the summer perfectly, and I love the description she used, "Sunglasses not optional bright". I could picture the little town of Holley without a problem.

The writing of the this story was so life like, I wanted throat punch Ty Porter for a good part of this novel. Don't get me wrong, he had some good traits, but from my own personal experiences, he reminded me of someone I know who isn't as nice as Ty, and he grated on me a little, but it did open up to cheer for him when he work toward changing.

Celia, I could empathize with. She was hurt emotionally and was treated horribly and I didn't find anything wrong with her actions. She built a wall around her heart to protect her and her young daughter. She sacrificed so much to provide the best she could on her own for Addy. And I rooted for her through the whole story. I could feel her anger in this story and also felt it for her, especially in certain scenes where Addy is spoiled by big presents which weren't needed, and felt a bit like bribery instead. I did enjoy how she opened up and worked with the changes around her, despite at times it felt like she was pushed to certain things. Celia was fun and caring girl and loved her daughter with all of her heart.

This story reached out to me. I could understand and empathize where Celia's fears were and I just wanted to hug her. I did have to put the book down a couple of times because my own emotions came into play, but in all honesty, I loved how a book could grab me and hold on to me like that. I also enjoyed the humor that flowed throughout the story to give it a lightness.

Too Read!
