I'm happy to be apart of the blog tour and feature Until That Distant Day by Jill Stengl. I have not been able to read this book yet, but I'm looking forward to it! For the tour, Jill was kind enough to answer a question about her book.

Title: Until That Distant Day
Author: Jill Stengl
Publisher: Rooglewood Press
Pages: 356
Publication Date: April 8th, 2014

Colette and her brother Pascoe are two sides of the same coin, dependent upon one another in the tumultuous world of the new Republic. Together they labor with other leaders of the sans-culottes to ensure freedom for all the downtrodden men and women of France.

But then the popular uprisings turn bloody and the rhetoric proves false. Suddenly, Colette finds herself at odds with Pascoe and struggling to unite her fractured family against the lure of violence. Charged with protecting an innocent young woman and desperately afraid of losing one of her beloved brothers, Colette doesn’t know where to turn or whom to trust as the bloodshed creeps ever closer to home.
Until that distant day when peace returns to France, can she find the strength to defend her loved ones . . . even from one another?

Q & A:
Question: What led you to choose to set the book during the uprising of France?

Answer: Thank you for this question, Katie. And thank you so much for joining my blog tour!
Novels are all about drama, and what is more dramatic than a revolution? I enjoy writing
historical novels set during lesser-known pivotal moments in history, in this case, events that
eventually culminated in the infamous Reign of Terror. Such times of anarchy and horror
don’t happen randomly. Why did France’s honest attempt to establish a democratic republic
spiral downward into disaster? The common people of Paris in the 1790’s were not unnatural
monsters—they were human beings just like us, desiring justice, equality, and peace. What went
Fiction can bring the past to life, and understanding the past can provide new perspective on the
present. However, Until That Distant Day is fundamentally a story about relationships—family
love and romantic love, friendship and enmity, birth and death. It is the story of one young

woman’s attempt to find purpose and hope and a future . . . and a love that will last.

Thank you so much! I love hearing about how stories come to be. The lesser-known historical setting tend to be the most thrilling. I can not wait to read this story.
