Top Ten Tuesday: First Reviews

April 23, 2019

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Artsy Read Girl.
Each week features a book related topic to spotlight your Top Ten.

Topic:
 First Ten Books I Reviewed

This topic is really going back!
I started reviewing in 2012. It took a while before I started to review for publishing houses and authors, so I just reviewed for the fun of it....although it has gotten more fun as time has gone. I kind of know what I was doing!!

When I first started to read and review, I had no idea what I was doing, hadn't found my voice, so I was all over the place!

1.)  The Help
8.) Matched
9.) Crossed

It took time, but I found what I loved reading. I went back to what got me into reading originally, Christian fiction. I have opened up my ideas to different genres. I now read historical, contemporary, adventure, romance. I read an assortment of styles of books.

I fell into a slump a few years before I started this blog, but when I got back into reading, I wanted to keep track. I had known of Goodreads, but didn't track like I was supposed to. Reading has expanded my knowledge of the bookish world and I'm so very happy about that!

What were your first 10 reviews?

  1. I think all of us bloggers can relate to that first, "Oh no, how do I review now? Do I talk like a human or something? What are words?!" moment when you start your blog. My early reviews were a lot like that, too.

That's so interesting, that you were able to pinpoint more precisely the sort of books you like. Especially since a lot of your early reviews were more YA fantasy/sci-fi, and it looks like that's not necessarily your preferred books now. How interesting!

    Here's my TTT post.

  2. I agree with Sammie. It's always interesting to see how bloggers of any type find their voice.
