Kid Favorite Friday: Back to School

August 9, 2013

We are into August now! It is crazy how the summer has just flown by. So, with August here, it's almost time to send the kiddos back to school (although I've heard some are already back, depending on where you live).

This week, I'm focusing on favorite books from school. I took the kiddo out school supply shopping last week to get her ready, and to beat the rush and the mob of this week's tax free weekend. She picked out several books she would like for school.

On Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss
It's a classic. I kind of pointed the kid to the this book. It's one of those fun books to learn to read with.
Secret Spy Mater by Melissa Lagonegro
The kiddo is just in love with Cars right now. She found this one (and a few others) that are great, small books to ease her into reading on her own. I want her to love reading and look forward to the books.

Jesus Calling Bible Storybook by Sarah Young

Ok, this book I got for the kiddo, it is actually for her Bible class. I wanted to expand her Bible lessons further and into more detailed stories, and this offers that.

The Berenstain Bears Go to School by Stan & Jan Berenstain
This is just a classic book for going back to school! It's a great way to show the kids some basic things that will happen when they first go to school and the fun that they can have.

What are/were your favorite school books as a kid?
