Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Discussion Question: Today we are talking about our best and worst book to movie adaptation experiences!

The best out weighed the worst today.

Best:

Sense & Sensibility- The book just seemed slow, this movie was great.
Emma- I haven't really read the book, I can't get in to it, but I love the movie.
Matilda- Loved this adaptation.
Gettysburg (The Killer Angles)- I had to read it for school and loved it. The movie follows the book so closely and it is almost word for word!
Gods and Generals- Another great adaptation. Follows so closely to the book.
Little Women- I loved this version, it is a little different from the book, but the actors are great in it.
Charlotte's Web- I liked this one so much more than the cartoon.

Worst:

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief- It completely strayed from the book.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince- The whole battle was left out at the end!! It was an important battle and the director cut it, because  he thought that the last 2 movies would have enough fighting.
Twilight- Sorry, spider monkey, it just didn't cut it.

What do you think are the best and worst

  1. I couldn't agree with you more about Twilight. While the writing of the book wasn't the BEST, the movie adaption was HORRIBLE. And yet, I saw every. single. movie at midnight. What does that say about me?!

I went to respond to this one, and realized I don't really watch a lot of movies. Sad, huh? I looooved The Hunger Games movie, and felt like it stayed very true to the book. It left some details out, but then, how can you not? It's a very detailed book into 2 hours.

    1. I know what you mean. I went to every opening weekend and I own all of the movies...I'm a gluten for punishment, I think.

The Hunger Games was great! I think they did a wonderful job sticking to the book. The changes they made, I was ok with, because Suzanne Collins helped with the screen play. She knows the characters better than anyone!

  2. I agree with all of your bests, but I really liked the Harry Potter movies. Lol. Twilight was terrible though. All of them. I haven't seen Percy Jackson yet.

    1. I did like the Harry Potter movies, it's just that ending in the Half Blood Prince through it all off. I was bummed. Twilight...oh, boy. I'm seeing it everywhere today. :-)

Thanks for stopping by! I will check it out.
