Kid Favorite Friday

July 12, 2013

This week, I picked out some of my favorite fairy tale books. I mean, who doesn't love a good fairy tale...or a fractured fairy tale? With my warped sense of humor, I'm typically drawn to a fractured fairy tale. It's fun to see a classic in a different perspective.

The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka and Illustrated by Lane Smith. I remember being introduced to this book as a kid and loving! The poor wolf and the stinker pigs (as the kiddo would say).
Little Red Riding Hood: A Newfangled Prairie Tale by Lisa Campbell Ernest. This is another twist to a classic. It's a lot of fun. I bought this when I taught preschoolers and they thought it was great!
Little Critter Hansel and Gretel by Mercer Mayer. Who doesn't love Little Critter?! The picture are fun with the familiar little spider and other friends peeking out of places. And now Little Critter is showing his love for fairy tales.
Cinderella Read-Along by the Disney Book Group. This is one of the kiddos favorite books. She loves Cinderella, and sometimes, when it's hard to sit down and read a story, you can put the CD in and the kiddo can still have a story read to her.
